We now have an opportunity to honor some of your outstanding education professionals who help students achieve this goal. 2008 MUSD Educator Award Winners
Montebello Unified School District and its employees are dedicated to helping students succeed both in school and in their life. This year, Camino Federal Credit Union has taken the opportunity to honor some of the outstanding educational professionals who help their students achieve this goal. Camino FCU has presented three recognition awards to MUSD’s finest administrator, educator, and classified employee of the year.
2008 Administrator of the Year Victor Chavez Principal, Bell Gardens High School
Victor Chavez, Principal at Bell Gardens High School, is a flexible leader and a hands-on principal who truly oversees all that goes on at the school. He values a clean, safe and functional environment so that both students and staff can accomplish their best. His presence at Bell Gardens High School, with his attention to everyday details and needs of the school, has enabled others to be able to focus on their specific areas of academic expertise.
2008 Educator of the Year Kenny Seto Teacher & Renaissance Program Coordinator, Schurr High School
Kenny Seto, Teacher and Renaissance Program Coordinator at Schurr High School, has faithfully served the students of the district for over 15 years as a classified employee as well as a teacher. He has been nationally recognized by Jostens as running an exceptional Renaissance program, a program that he built from the ground up over the last several years. The Renaissance program is to increase academic performance in our school by increasing student attendance, improving overall academic performance, increasing graduation rates, and creating a positive, safe school environment. This year he was invited to facilitate the We Care for Youth program hosted by the Montebello Town Center and supported by the City of Montebello’s Gang Diversion Taskforce.
2008 Classified Employee of the Year Linda Rivera Project Office Secretary, Bell Gardens High School
Linda Rivera, Project Office Secretary at Bell Gardens High School, has faithfully served the students of the MUSD for the last 33 years. Linda is well-liked and respected by the entire community. Her tact, firmness, and especially her smile, are all appreciated by many of her co-workers and supervisors.
