Well, we came up with three things you can do in Los Angeles that don’t cost more than the gas to get you there. Enjoy!

Tour Disney Concert Hall

The Walt Disney Concert Hall was designed by world-famous architect Frank Gehry and is the home of the LA Philharmonic. The concert hall itself is said to be one of the most acoustically sophisticated concert halls in the world, while the building is an internationally recognized architectural landmark.

The Walt Disney Concert Hall offers free tours. Both self-guided audio tours and guided tours are available. You can learn more on their website.

Visit the Old LA Zoo

Did you know there used to be a zoo in Griffith Park? Now abandoned, it is a great place to take a hike and explore the inner workings of the zoo. What better way to keep your children in line than to lock them up in an old tiger cage?

Just kidding.

Closed in 1965 when it was moved to a new location, the old zoo is available for exploration and is a great place for fun pictures. It is also a great way to learn more about the history of Los Angeles.

Visit the DTLA Art Walk

Every second Thursday of the month, the DTLA Art Walk is from 6pm to 10pm. However, most galleries are open before that time as well.

Galleries and shops stay open late and allow you to view their art and explore the area, often serving light refreshments. Most of the activity takes place on Spring and Main streets between 2nd and 9th street.

This can be a great way to expose your children to a wide variety of art from local artists. Learn more on the Downtown Art Walk website.
