There’s just something about fall that can really bring family and friends together. While the temperature doesn’t suggest a change in season as it does in other parts of the country, fall is officially on our heels. And if you’re looking for fun fall events to enjoy near Los Angeles, start filling up your calendar with these events and celebrations.
Knott’s Scary Farm
If you love a good scare, you don’t want to miss Knott’s Scary Farm. The Knott’s Berry Farm transforms into a haunting Halloween experience unlike any other. You can expect to “jump” as more than 1,000 horrifying creatures lurk in the shadows and corners of the park as you navigate through haunted houses, mazes, attractions, thrill rides and shows. This is not for the faint of heart, but if you dare go, the scares start September 20th through October 31st.
Dia De Los Muertos
Also known as The Day of the Dead, Dia de los Muertos, is a Mexican holiday celebrated October 31 through November 2. This holiday is celebrated with a creation of altars to remember friends and family members who have died. Due to the nature and history of this celebration, there will be private, along with public, Dia de los Muertos celebrations happening all over Los Angeles area. Brewery Artwalk
The Brewery Artwalk is a bi-annual open studio weekend at the world’s largest art complex. Over 100 resident artists display their artwork, which ranges from architecture and landscape to performance and fashion. The free art experience gives you an opportunity to support LA’s artists and take home some great work. It will take place October 13-14th.
The Original Farmers Market
Grab the entire family and head down to the Farmers Market for their annual Fall Festival. The Farmers Market goes all out to celebrate the harvest. Happening October 13-14, you can enjoy carnival games, petting zoo, old-time artisans, pie-eating contest, and tons of live musical performances. While you’re there, you can grab a few pumpkins for the family to decorate later.
