The season of pumpkins, colorful leaves, and spooky Halloween ideas is quickly approaching!

To keep your children fully entertained, here are a few fun projects for your children to embrace this fall.

Carve-Free Pumpkin Decoration

What is autumn without pumpkins? If you don’t trust your kids to handle the carving tools for a pumpkin, or simply want to avoid the gooey pumpkin meat mess, try one of these creative ways to decorate it instead. Let your children pick out their own pumpkin from the pumpkin patch and then at home have them decorate it by either gluing on their favorite colored jewels or ribbons, painting them, or sticking glow-in-the-dark stickers on. This can be as simple or complex as you and your children wish.

For inspiration on how to decorate your pumpkin, check out this blog from Out and About Mom:

Painted Leaves with Shaving Cream

For arts and crafts lovers, this project is low cost and full of fun for young children and toddlers! Simply swirl acrylic paint into a pie tin of shaving cream, press a leaf-shaped cardstock cutout into the paint, and set it aside to dry. You can use a squeegee to wipe away excess paint. After it’s dry, use the blank backside to write something on the back, like things your child is thankful for.

We got this idea from Little Wonder Days, you can learn more about this project here:

Edible Haunted Forest Centerpiece

If kids want an excuse to play with their food, why not make a centerpiece of delicious fall treats? You will need wire for this project, but aside from that if you use edible mini pumpkin tarts (instead of plastic ones) then everything in this project is edible! Put the wire through the black licorice, plant it atop a chocolate-frosted graham cracker, and border the graham cracker rim with candy corn. You can then place mini pumpkins below the tree.
