What are your plans for Thanksgiving Day? If you haven’t decided yet, here are a few suggestions of what you can do in or around Cerritos and Montebello on Thanksgiving Day.
Cerritos:
Los Cerritos Center Mall
We all love finding deals on clothes, electronics and more, so why not shop at the Los Cerritos Center Mall? The mall will be open from 6:00 PM -12:00 AM on Thanksgiving Day to help you with all your shopping needs.
Long Beach Turkey Trot
What could be better than spending time with your family, supporting a good cause and getting a little exercise in before your feast?
The Long Beach Turkey Trot!
You and your family can participate in the Long Beach Turkey Trot at 7:00 AM, 8:30 AM or 10 AM depending on what time is most convenient for you.
Harkin Cerritos 16 or Regal Edwards Cerritos
The Harkin Cerritos 16 and the Regal Edwards Cerritos are two great theaters to go to on Thanksgiving in the Cerritos area. Going to the movies is a great way to do something fun, yet low key with the family. Book your tickets soon because they are already starting to sell out!
Knott’s Berry Farm Park
On the other hand, if you are looking for a little more action-packed day with rides, food and more, then Knott’s Berry Farm is the place for you! While you are there, don’t forget to check out the Knott’s Thanksgiving Buffet for everything from breakfast to dinner!
Thanksgiving Aboard the Queen Mary
Have you ever been aboard the Queen Mary? The Queen Mary is an old ship that is stationed at the Long Beach Harbor. Once the ship retired, it was turned into an onboard hotel as well as a place with a variety of activities for people of all ages. Check out their tours, exhibits and paranormal walks and make sure to take in the view as you dine overlooking the water. If you go on Thanksgiving, they will be serving a full Thanksgiving brunch that you and your family will enjoy.
Montebello:
The Shops of Montebello
Black Friday shopping is a favorite amongst many who are looking for deals on their favorite items or for gifts they want to buy for their loved ones for Christmas. Even though the Shops of Montebello will be open, if you have a particular store in mind, you might want to call first to find out if the store will be open.
Hiking at Whittier Turnbull Canyon Hiking Trail
Looking for a way to build up your appetite or work off that big Thanksgiving meal you just ate? Take a hike at Whittier Turnbull Canyon to not only get some exercise in but to also stop and smell the fresh air as you observe the wildlife.
Turkey Trot
If you are looking for a way to get the whole family involved, stop by for the Turkey Trot Los Angeles. This Turkey Trot includes a 5k, 10k, or 1-mile Widdle Wobble for kids. Everyone gets a race shirt, sparkly finisher medal, bib and goodies from the post-race festival!
Los Angeles Auto Show
Have you been thinking about buying a car soon or perhaps you just want to take a look at the brand new models coming out for 2020? The LA Auto Show will be taking place from November 22- December 1st as a way for people to experience the look and feel of all types of vehicles. If you specifically wanted to go on Thanksgiving, the LA Auto Show will be going on from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Feed the Homeless
It is always the best feeling when you are able to give back to those less fortunate than you. From 11:00 AM- 2:00 PM on Thanksgiving Day, you can donate a cooked dish that you will serve to the homeless community. By doing so, you truly will make their Thanksgiving memorable.
